2 brushing methods for your child!

Fones brushing (6 under):

Children under the age of 6 are recommended to use the fones brushing technique. This method requires the child to keep their teeth closed together. Hold the toothbrush horizontally and make wide circles, ensuring that all teeth are being covered. The biting surfaces of teeth are scrubed as usual. The insides of the front teeth are cleaned by using the heel-toe method. The heel of the toothbrush is held to the bottom of the teeth and then slide the toothbrush to the top.

Horizontal brushing (6 over):

Children over the age of 6 are recommended to use the horizontal brushing technique. The child will still keep their teeth closed together. Hold the toothbrush horizontally and scrub teeth back and forth. The same method of brushing for the insides and biting surfaces of teeth is used.

After the age of 10 the childs brushing method should be upgraded to a adults brushing method. It is essential to regularly visit the dentist, where they can modify your brushing method that is custom to your needs.
