What is periodontal disease?

Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease of the gums and the supporting bone sturctures of your teeth. Poor oral hygiene can result in gum disease (gingivitis), however some people are more susceptible than others.

  2. Mild periodontitis: The bacteria progressed past the gums and effects the supporting bones of your teeth.
  3. Moderate periodontitis: Bacteria erodes the ligaments and bone holding your teeth in place. Your may notice your tooth becoming more mobile.
  4. Advanced periodontitis: As bone loss continues your teeth are more susceptible of falling out.
