Posted .

To avoid negative effects from a baby’s bottle like baby bottle tooth decay you should, clean their teeth and gums daily, avoid sugary liquids, avoid using the baby’s bottle for too long and transtion to a cup by age one. Prevent feeding problems by using a comfortable position and taking breaks for burping. Always use clean bottles and equimpment to prevent germ buildup.

The main things you should focus on to avoid you baby’s teeth from decaying is, limiting their sugar exposure, cleaning their gums and teeth after feedings, avoid using bottles as pacifiers by making sure they don’t use the bottle for comfort and use a pacifier instead, and make sure to Schedule dental visits at your most convenient family dentist. Remeber to not let your babies fall asleep with a bottle in their hand which contains any drink other than water. Make sure to be taking care of their hygiene by, washing their bottles thoroughly and any other equimpment as soon as possible after feeding.

You should transition from using baby bottles to cups between 12 months to 18 months due to their being negative causes of delaying the switch. Babies will tend to start skipping meals and won’t feel hungry during meal times which will cause them to get less fiber and nutrients then they need. Alowing babies access to sugary drinks for long periods of time may lead to them developing early baby tooth cavities and babies that use their bottle for over 2 years tend to have misaligned teeth and speech delays since they need to strengthen their muscles for clear speech.
