Anything the dentist uses in your mouth gets cleaned right away. First they wash it, then they put it in a machine that uses heat to kill germs. So by the time it’s used again, it’s completely safe.
It’s not just the tools either. The chair, the light, and the area around you all get wiped down before the next person comes in. You can usually see them doing it, which is actually a good thing.
Some things aren’t even reused at all. They just get thrown out after one use so there’s no risk.
