Why it’s important to change gloves between patients

Posted .

Changing gloves between patients is actually really important, even though it might seem like a small thing. Gloves are there to stop germs from spreading, but they only work if they’re used the right way.

When a dentist is working on a patient, the gloves can pick up bacteria from their mouth. If the dentist didn’t change them and went to the next patient, those germs could get passed on without anyone noticing.

That’s why dentists always take off their gloves after finishing with one patient and put on a new pair before starting with another. They usually do it right in front of you so you can see it.

It also protects the dentist and assistants, not just the patient. Gloves help keep everyone safe from infections.

At our office, we always change gloves between every patient to keep things clean and safe. You can book with Dr. Abid Hidayat, we’re open Monday to Saturday. We also speak Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, and Arabic. You can call 416 546 5599 if you want to book or ask anything.
