Common infections that can spread in dental clinics

Posted .

Even though dental clinics are really clean, there are still some infections that can spread if things aren’t done properly. This is mostly because dentists are working super close to patients and dealing with saliva and sometimes blood.

For example, things like colds or the flu can spread pretty easily. If someone comes in sick and coughs or sneezes, those germs can go into the air or land on surfaces. That’s why you’ll see dentists wearing masks and cleaning things a lot.

There are also more serious infections like hepatitis B or C. These don’t spread as easily, but they can be passed through blood if tools aren’t sterilized the right way. That’s why dental offices are really strict about cleaning their instruments.

Even bacteria from surfaces can be a problem. Like if a chair or tool isn’t cleaned properly, the next patient could be exposed to those germs. It’s kinda small things, but they add up.

But honestly, the chances of getting sick at the dentist are really low because most places follow the rules carefully. They clean everything, change gloves, and make sure tools are safe to use.

At our office, we take this seriously and try to keep everything as clean as possible so patients feel comfortable coming in. If you want to book with Dr. Abid Hidayat, we’re open Monday to Saturday. We also speak Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, and Arabic. You can call 416-546-5599 if you need to book or ask anything.
