How dentists keep patients safe from germs

Posted .

A lot of people don’t realize how much dentists actually do to keep things clean. It’s not just about brushing your teeth, there’s a whole process happening to make sure no germs are passed around.

One of the main things is wearing gloves and masks. Dentists and assistants change their gloves after every patient, so they’re not carrying germs from one person to another. Masks and sometimes face shields help block any droplets too.

Another big thing is cleaning the tools. After each patient, all the instruments get washed and then put into a special machine that uses heat to kill bacteria and viruses. This makes sure everything is safe before it’s used again.

They also wipe down everything around you, like the chair, light, and counters. Even small things that get touched a lot are cleaned often. You might not notice it, but they’re always disinfecting in between patients.

Hand washing is also really important. Before and after every appointment, they clean their hands properly to avoid spreading germs.

At the Smile Team, these steps are followed carefully to keep patients safe during every visit. We focus on making sure everything is clean while also giving the best care possible. Patients can book appointments with Dr. Abid Hidayat, and the office is open Monday to Saturday.
