Your teeth don’t stay

the same your whole

life; they go through changes as you grow. Knowing what happens at each stage can help you take better care of them.

Baby Teeth

we start at baby teeth, also called primary teeth. They usually appear around 6 months old and help kids chew, speak, and hold spaces for adult teeth. Baby teeth fall out between age 6 and 12.

Teen and Adult Teeth

Permanent teeth start coming in around age 6 and continue through your teen and adulthood, most people have 28 teeth (not counting wisdom teeth). During this time, it’s important to brush, floss, and visit the dentist to prevent cavities and gum problems.

wisdom teeth

Most people get wisdom teeth between the ages of 17 and 25. Something they grow in without problems, but over time, they can cause crowding, pain, or the need for removal.

Aging Teeth

As you get older, your teeth can become more yellow, worn down, or sensitive. Gums may recede, and older adults are at higher risk for cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease. Regular dental care is important to keep teeth healthy at every age.
