WHAT HELPS WITH TOOTH SENSITIVITY?

Posted .

If you have sensitive teeth, you can try

using special toothpaste, a soft

toothbrush, and fluoride treatments.

Eating less acidic foods, brushing

gently, and using a mouthguard if you

grind your teeth can help, too. Your

dentist might suggest treatments like

protective coatings, bonding, or gum surgery. It’s important to find  out what’s causing the sensitivity like worn enamel, receding gums,  or teeth grinding and talk to your dentist for advice that fits your  needs.

At home solution:

Desensitizing Toothpaste:

Potassium nitrate or stannous fluoride toothpaste helps block nerve  signals and strengthen enamel. Applied daily, especially on  sensitive spots before bed, it often relieves discomfort in weeks.

Gentle brushing:

choose toothbrush with soft bristles to prevent irritation and protect  the enamel. To protect softened enamel, wait at least

30 minutes after eating or drinking acidic foods before brushing your  teeth

Professional Treatments

Fluoride Applications:

Dentists may use fluoride varnish or recommend fluoride gels to  help strengthen tooth enamel and lessen sensitivity.

Dental Bonding:

When dentin is exposed because of enamel loss or gum recession,  applying bonding agents or sealants can effectively cover and  protect the tooth surface.
